What to do in October 2025 in Tirana

October in Tirana is a beautiful, colorful month — a perfect blend of late summer warmth and autumn charm. Some days are kissed by bright sunshine, while others bring refreshing autumn rains. This season is extraordinary for outdoor activities, leisurely walks, and open-air concerts. It is the pinnacle of autumn’s beauty, as the city’s parks transform from lush green into a mesmerizing palette of gold, red, and yellow — an enchanting tapestry of nature’s finest hues. With the start of the academic year, students from across Albania flock to Tirana, filling the city with energy and excitement. October offers countless opportunities to enjoy this vibrant atmosphere.

EVENTS

Tirana Marathon 2025 is the biggest event of the month. Thousands of sports lovers from all around the world have been participating in the Marathon and have registered since the beginning of this year. The marathon this year will take place on 19th October, as usual on Sunday, with a pre-competition held on Saturday with students and other participants. On this day, the city is somehow paralysed, with roads closed, and it will be impossible to drive in the main streets going to the city center. However, the announcements for the blocked roads will be days before the event. Be informed before you plan your activities or daily work on this day

Other events of the month, include the full calendar of Opera and Ballet Theater, the calendar of Metropoli Theater, National Theater, and Puppet Theater. For more information, please have a look on the social media of each of these institutions if you are a fan of art and culture in Tirana. Many events are foreseen in the framework of International Cultural weeks, starting with Hungarian week and ending in 30th October with Austrian cultural week.  See more here JKN

Popular activities during this time include exploring nature trails, strolling among the fallen leaves, or planning weekend picnics in the city’s green spaces. Just beyond Tirana, the nearby villages are also ideal for day trips, where you can enjoy fresh air, local food, and the beauty of rural landscapes.
