What to do in July in Tirana
Hello, explorer of Tirana! June flew by quickly, and the peak of summer has arrived—the heart of summer. Tirana is a very hot place in the summer, and we advise staying indoors during the day. However, there are plenty of bars and restaurants around the city where you can enjoy nice drinks and excellent cuisine. Additionally, you can opt to visit swimming pools or the beach. But the afternoon is the best time to enjoy cultural activities.
Welcome July! It’s time to dive into the essence of summer: Tirana is already a cultural destination, thanks to the numerous activities available in the city and its surroundings.

EVENTS IN JULY IN TIRANA
The month begins with activities to honor Ismail Kadare, the renowned Albanian writer who passed away a year ago. There will be two activities on July 1 dedicated to Kadare: one exhibition at the National Library, titled “In Memoriam” (1 July, at 11.00 am). And a second Exhibition: 100 Portraits of Kadare in the Visual Arts at COD, Tirana, on 18.00, (1 July)
On July 1-2, the Ballet Cantata will be performed at the Opera and Ballet Theater in Tirana for all opera lovers. Be sure to obtain your ticket in advance, as it is always fully booked. And for the weekend of 5-6 July, a special opera, Amadeus, will be shown as a premiere. It is a choreographic creation inspired by the life and music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Open Air Cinema invites everyone from 30 June to 6th July at the Reja installation, with several films.

The International Cultural Week begins with Egyptian Week, from July 8 to 12, featuring several activities in Tirana, followed by Brazilian Week from July 15 to 20. After this events, the Cultural Weeks will be back in September. See more here

The Hemingway Jazz Festival, now in its 12th Edition, will be held from July 20 to 21. The first night will feature Latin music performed by the Balkan Paradise Orchestra and Gabriela Mendes, accompanied by her group. The second night, “The Original Blues Brothers” will bring back the old music.

Where to go
In July, the weather in Tirana is extremely hot, and everyone tries to escape the city by going to the beach in Durres or other nearby towns, or by venturing outdoors to the mountains, lakes, or rivers. We are fortunate that you can reach the sea in Tirana in just 30 minutes by traveling to Durres or other nearby beaches, such as Shengjin, Lezha, and Vlora. You can go and come back in a day. You can also go to Dajti Mountain or the Erzeni River. The distances are short, and these are all daily tours.

In addition, Tirana is surrounded by Swimming Pools. You can choose from a desirable number of pools, allowing you to cool off from the heat while spending time with friends and family. In the afternoon, all the bars and restaurants are full of people. You can enjoy activities in the open space at Skanderbeg Square or Sheshi Italia. Don’t miss the chance to take photos of Tirana and post them with the hashtag #tiranasummer2025. We will share them at Visit Tirana, making your memories of the city unforgettable.

Our Recommendations
You can spend the hot days in Tirana, refreshing yourself in the numerous bars and restaurants around the city. One of the best is Mon Cheri, where you can find some of the best coffees, cappuccinos, drinks, and fast food. Mon Cheri has more than 35 shops in Tirana, with almost one in every neighborhood. The taste of the products is fantastic, which makes this place extremely popular, especially among young people.

Other recommendations are Habitat Hotel and Restaurants, Amo Sushi at TEG while you can always enjoy the Belvedere Restaurant in Dajti Mount.
Don’t forget to relax at Sawasdee SPA in Tirana.
Wishing you a pleasant July!
