What to do in February 2026 in Tirana

After the cold and gloomy January, almost everyone can hardly wait for February. Some are excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and some look forward to it because it is the last month of winter. This is the time of early spring when love and romance blossom. One of the first signs of early spring is the fresh exuberance of the mimosa flower, a beautiful and wondrous sight to behold.

February is the month of love, so give as much love and warmth as possible to your partner and your relatives. The City will be decorated with Hearts everywhere, especially in the center. Meanwhile, bars and restaurants are adopting new menus and offers to attract celebrating couples.
An important date is February 11, when Tirana was declared the capital of Albania in 1920. This year, Tirana will turn 106 years old, as the Capital of Albania. These crucial dates have always been remembered with various events in the capital. See more: 106th anniversary of Tirana Capital – Visit Tirana

What can you do in February?

Enjoy Nature

Nature is free and always open. February is a great time to spend more time outdoors, relax, and clear your mind. Tirana offers many green spaces where you can hike, cycle, or simply unwind, such as the Artificial Lake Park, Farka Lake, and Kashar Lake.

We also offer a range of cycling experiences, including city bike tours, park bike tours, and Farka bike tours, ideal for exploring Tirana actively and sustainably.

For winter landscapes, Mount Dajti and Mount Gropa are popular destinations during this season, often covered in snow. You can stop at Balkoni i Dajtit for a delicious lunch while enjoying panoramic views over Tirana.

Attractions of the month
We recommend two museums this month: The Postal Museum or Gallery and the Museum of Natural Sciences. The first Museum has some unique posts, and the history of our posts starts from the first government of Ismail Qemaili.

The Museum of Natural Science.  This museum will introduce you to the world of Albania’s unique species and wildlife, including rare species that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It highlights the extraordinary richness of Albania’s biodiversity, which includes around 30% of Europe’s flora and 42% of Europe’s fauna, making the country one of the most biodiverse regions on the continent.

Enjoy this month as much as possible, and remember that on February 29, the Photo Contest #TiranaWinter2026 will end, so post as many photos from Tirana with this hashtag as possible.
