"Mother" is a short novel, with a condensed event, but the intensity of the content is quite powerful. Deledda feels the need to bring to light the truest and most natural embryonic forces of the human being, whether created by instinct or shaped by the docks and customs of the land that created them.
Grazia Deledda, winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, has written novels and short stories with an ethical spirit, describing the difficult daily life of fellow Sardinians.
Nothing can be compared to the close relationship that is created between mother and child and it is precisely on this strong foundation that Grazia Deledda builds a story of tears, suffering and passion.
