Tirana my Rhythm

Tirana my Rhythm is a choreographic project by Giulio De Leo, born from the invitation of Gjergj Prevaz, director of the NATIONAL EXPERIMENTAL THEATER of Tirana, to develop a creation with the young performers of the ALBANIAN DANCE COMPANY and from the Italian choreographer's interest in the landscape Albanian cultural. A work that brings into play the language of dance, photography and videography to create an innovative and unconventional creation. Elements of the Albanian folk dance tradition are reworked in a contemporary key and reduced to a cyclic and ritual key, to build a poetic journey in which the body itself becomes a landscape and meeting place for different views and cultures.
The project developed thanks to the support of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana will have its premiere on Wednesday April 5 at 20:00 at the EXPERIMENTAL NATIONAL THEATER in TIRANA and in July it will be presented in Italy in a national premiere as part of LE DANZATRICI en plein air 2023, the International Festival of Contemporary Dance directed by Giulio De Leo and recognized and financed by the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Puglia and the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia.
