At night, in the supermarket somewhere in East Germany, Christian is traveling between heavy duty shelves. In his new job as warehouse logistician in the beverage department, he fills in what was sold during the day. Bruno a former truck driver, who lived in the GDR, takes care of the silent Christian. Through the gaps in the merchandise shelf, Christian's eyes repeatedly meet Marion, the young colleague from the confectionery department. The hopes of the pause coffee shop batter allergings as Christian learns that Marion is married. Then, by chance, friends from Christian's dark past emerge and endanger his new life, and suddenly Bruno disappears.
IN THE AISLES is a film about the late effects of German reunification. A film that thinks more than just about the German turn: The job of the hard-working people is between the wares, in which they run the risk of being slain by pallets full of goods.
