13-year-old Amelie is fed up with the school, her parents and, most importantly, her asthma condition, which she has been fighting with for as long as she can remember. After a severe attack, she should recover in the South Tyrolean mountains in a special clinic. But the therapy robs her of the last nerve. Out of breath, Amelie gasps and flees into the mountains, away from the doctors who have not been able to help her yet. She is looking for a fire that will work wonders. In the mountains you will meet Bart. The extraordinary boy is not impressed by her aggressiveness and stubbornness. Together, they reach a mountain peak while the adults organize the search for the missing girl. When descending, they come across the St. John's Fire, from which promises Amelie healing. Perhaps, in the end, however, it is the tentative, first infatuation that gives Amelie new power and a positive attitude to life.
AMELIE RENNT negotiates childhood and adulthood, nature and civilization, healing and salvation. At the core, it is always about the question of self-optimization and self-acceptance.
