Pandival festival

Pandival 1.1 is the first edition of the Albanian festival dedicated to the first generation of the Fiat Panda.

The festival will be a one-day event with different activities including the presentation of the book ‘Panda or Death’ by the Italian author Marco Rizzini, a barbecue open to all, and finally a symbolic gathering of the Pandas, towards the mountains of Tirana.

The rally of the Pandas will not be competitive, but simply an opportunity for Panda aficionados to get together. The exact path that the Pandas will follow will be announced soon.

On the grill you can find meat products but also vegetarian options. We advise everyone to bring something to cook together. To drink there will be beer and water at a symbolic price.

Presentation of the book 'Panda or Death'

Marco Rizzini was born in 1981 in Verona but has lived in Milan for some time. He has always been passionate about writing, history and geopolitics. Member of the Journalists Association since 2006, he writes about cinema and bizarre travels.

Rizzini comes to Tirana to tell us how he resigns and leaves with two friends towards East aboard a 1980 Fiat Panda. He crosses about 12,000 kilometers to Uzbekistan, and returns racing on the Sovietska Ulitsa, the 66th highway of the Empire. In the midst of sand, sweat, fatigue and endless queues at customs, a space is cut out to reflect on one's life.
It is no coincidence that the writer is also on the way to reach the tomb of his Polish great-grandfather who opposed the Russian occupation, persecuted in the gulags and buried beside a dusty road in Uzbekistan. On board of the Panda, Rizzini crosses the Balkans, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and finally Tashkent and then returns via holy cities of Islam.
In this infinite change of landscapes and faces, observing the different religious attitudes, the new fragments of identity, seeing the past in people's faces and discovering, through the new generations, the future that advances on.
