The International Puppet Theater Festival - Sunshine, will take place from 25 May to 1 June at Skanderbeg Square and Metropol Theater. This edition brings dignified bodies with tradition in this genre like China, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Israel, England not only in Tirana, but also in Korça, Durrës, Kavajë, Elbasan and Shkodra. In this festival, Albania will be represented by the Metropol Theater with two performances.
The performances of these countries, very different from the content and the techniques, will bring to our place their specific traditions in this very important confrontation both for the public and artists.
The bodies will perform from 2 performances, the morning at the Metropol Theater and every dinner at Scanderbeg Square. (Free entry)
In this edition will be held workshops with students of the Academy of Arts and young artists who will assist in the development of this artistic genre.
On May 25, 19:00, an exceptional parade with flags of representative states, mascots, circus artists, dancers of the Tirana Ensemble with folk costumes and hundreds of children who will start a 7 day marathon dedicated to children .
A week dedicated to puppet theater and children.
We are convinced that this amazing artistic form of communication will engage the participation and imagination of every age group.
