A rich program was foreseen for Summer Day in Tirana, and the celebrations were big. The city center was dominated by people, music, colors and cheerfulness etc. The center of Tirana seemed chaotic in a joyful atmosphere. It was nice to see the happy faces of children and adults as they enjoyed time together. It was a day full of activities that began in the early hours of the day with the inauguration of the New Bazaar, which took a huge media attention. New Bazaar was a much needed investment for the city, replacing the decrepit one. The New Bazaar is not only a contemporary and modern building, but it respects tradition, and is giving back to the city the beauty and authenticity. It can now turn into a major attraction of the city due to the unique facades that have preserved the Italian architectural style, the decoration with Albanian motives, as well as public spaces to enjoy fresh food and rest.
Along the Boulevard of Martyrs to Mother Teresa Square decorations with spring motives gave the city the festive atmosphere of the day. A series of activities were held on this boulevard. A concert with live music by renowned singers gathered and entertained thousands of people. Another interesting activity was the Flash Mob, organized by Dance Sport Albania in cooperation with 2400 students from several high schools in Tirana, who managed to dance with a perfect synchronization, giving an amazing show in Tirana.
The city band performed in Grand Park. The Agency of Parks and Recreation of the Municipality of Tirana also organized many games for children and adults, where the best part was the colorful carnivals. The Pyramid hosted the exhibition of 2nd International Watercolor Biennale Tirana 2017, where hundreds of artists gave live performances painting famous Albanians and popular attractions of Tirana in an open space.
The Blloku area was the hotspot of street party with two concert scenes in two different streets, where renowned DJs performed in an electrifying atmosphere until the early morning hours.
