From 1st of June, the land borders opened with neighbour countries. Also the whole country opened, lifting the curfew with the last remained red zones, Tirana, Durres and Shkodra. Now people can move freely in all the country.
There is hope that tourism will restart after long agony due to COVID19. The hotels in Tirana are ready to welcome tourists with all the necessary measures taking place. Restaurants, bars also are open. Albania’s beaches will be open from 1st of June, but only for people staying in hotels. From 10th of June, the beaches will be open for all people.
Public transport also will be open soon, and people can move from one destination to the other. But the measures are strict, even for transport who will work with half of their capacity due to social distance. Also the hotels have strict protocols to follow, starting from appointing a Covid coordinator who will monitor the health of guests since they are arriving in their hotel.

What we suggest for this month are tours outside Tirana. A daily trip to Erzeni Canyons, Pellumbas Cave, Shumoku Canyons, Farka Lake, Cyclop Eye, or in Peza, Petrela and Preza villages, when you can see the castles and enjoy a picnic in the nature. We organize tours in groups every weekend and you can join with us, booking your place at contact@visit-tirana.com or 0692078553.
The cultural events are still missing, since the festivals, concerts in public spaces are still forbidden. But you can enjoy museums and galleries which are open. Theater or cinemas are still closed.
Despite the luck of cultural events, we can use this period to enjoy nature, and to part of it. But careful, don’t pollute it, live nothing behind only your footprints! We can preserve nature, and make our planet live longer!
Don’t forget to post your photos of Tirana in Summer. #TiranaSummer2020 photo contest will be open from 1 June to 31 August. Show the best of Tirana and we will share your photos via our social media channels. Let’s promote together our city. Let’s save tourism!
