Tourism season restarts carefully in Tirana

The hotels are all open in Tirana, after months of closure due to Covid 19. They have taken all the necessary measures for the safety of their guests: disinfecting the rooms and all premises, printing all the information and putting them in visible places for the guest. Everything is clean and ready. But, where are the guests? Where are the tourists?

They even are lowering their prices, preparing cheap packages to address the local tourism. We interviewed our clients who are preparing everything needed to start the summer season.

Dajti Express who owns Belvedere Hotel, Ballkoni i Dajtit Restaurant, Dajti Adventure Park, Roller Blading Rink, minigolf fields is offering family packages for all local and foreign torists. This package for the summer months is: two parents and two kids (under 12 years), can enjoy for 49 euro together a night at the hotel, breakfast and dinner, cable car drive, roller blanding ticket. This is a very good offer for a family weekend in the Mount Dajti. 

Hotel Colosseo a 4-Star luxury hotel is located at Durresi Street, now is open and waiting for tourists. “We can’t wait to see the first guests’ – said Brizida, the manager of the hotel.  “The hotel was closed for travellers during COVID-19 lockdown and we were working with limited staff to answer the calls and we are now getting ready to welcome travelers following government protocols for hotels about COVID-19”, she added. Colosseo hotel welcomes travelers from the region who can reach Tirana by car, travelers from Kosovo, Northern Macedonia and other Balkan countries who want to explore Tirana and Albania.  While in hotel you can enjoy it refined cuisines which mixes local taste with Italian cuisine with elegant serving.  There is also pastry bar which offers mouthwatering desserts. 

Hotel Unik is also opened after pandemic and offering 20% discount for accomodation this period. The hotel is located close to the Tirana Zoo, in a green area, away from the noise and traffic of Capital. Valentina, the manager of this hotel said that they keep all the staff, waiting for better days to come. During the pandemic they continued the work only with their restaurants Pavaroti and Gambero, delivering food for clients to their home. So they have been busy somehow. The hotel is now open and they are preparing to welcome tourists respecting all the safety protocols for #Covid19.

Bars and restaurants and nightlife

Bar and restaurants started to work after 18th of May. They are operating normally, respecting the social distance with 2 m between tables or chairs. The agrotourism farms outside Tirana will be the most visited this summer, since people want to stay outside and to enjoy fresh products. We can suggest you many restaurants, traditional, italian, or modern cuisine.  Regarding the night bars, they are not opened yet.

Museums and parks are open

On international day of Museums, 18 May, all the museums, galleries, natural parks and archaeological parks will be open. This is an added opportunity for tourism industry to include the visits on the cultural sites in their first packages for tourism season after Covid19.
