How do I take precautions?

If you happen to have a cold, stay calm and take the same precautions you would if you had the flu. You have to stay at your home, hotel room for two weeks to quarantine yourself. Take care of your health and protect others by following the advice of the national health authorities:

  • Avoid handshakes.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cough and sneeze into your inner elbow.
  • Turn away from others coughing or sneezing.
  • Use paper tissues to contain your coughs and blow your nose.
  • Do not use a face mask. This is not helpful and can even increase the risk of contamination.

What to do with health complaints?

If you have a fever with respiratory symptoms, including coughing or shortness of breath, please contact 127 while you are staying in Albania. Reply to their questions and follow their instructions. Do not go to hospital. Stay where you are, and a medical staff will come to you.
