Today was the first day of the farmers fair at Mother Teresa square in Tirana, Albania.
The fair will continue until October 13 throughout the day. 800 farmers from all over Albania brought their products/works in Tirana. Today and tomorrow is the moment to get acquainted with Albanian products, a variety of colors and tastes.
Visit Tirana was at the opening of the fair to look closely at the reaction of the visitors but also the farmers themselves, who came from different areas of Albania especially for this event.
The whole square "Mother Teresa" was turned into a small village with agricultural products, crafts and small "farms" were created with animals and poultry.
Many of the tourists saw and tried Albanian raki and wine. An English couple said: "We are lucky to see this fair today because now we know more about Albania and its hard working people. I tried rakia, cheeses and olives and they were fantastic.”
This is the second year that this event is organized by Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with Chamber of Commerce & Industry Tirana.
