Tirana has now its yearly ‘Wine festival’, which was organized for the first time in the village Shesh, where is the origin of unique variety of grapes in Albania “Shesh i Bardhe” and “Shesh i Zi”.
The event was part of “Festat Lokale” a series of festivals in villages. The events are supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Tourism, and the municipalities in whole the country.
‘Festa n’Shesh’ was organized by Tirana Municipality and DMO Albania (Destination Management Organization) on 8th of September in Ndroq area.
The event included wine and food fair, folk music and dance, and many other activities. Many visitors from Tirana came to be part of this event.
Erion Veliaj, the mayor of Tirana took part in this festival. He encouraged the villagers to focus their investment in agritourism, because all the villages in the area have a lot of potential. Also he asked all the visitors to buy the fresh products from the villagers because in this way they help their economies and wellbeing.
Festa n’Shesh will be held next year in September in the same area. The aim is to turn this event into a yearly tradition to celebrate the wine production in Tirana region.
