Great activities held in Tirana for National Days

The Independence day is celebrated every year in 28th of December. Many acitivities held in all the cities of Albania, mostly in Tirana and Vlora, the city where the Independence of Albania was declared on 28 November 1912, 105 years ago. In Tirana were organized many activities, but the most important one was the raise of National Flag at Skanderbeg Square. The next day 29th of November is celebrated as Liberation Day, also called The White Night. All the festive celebrations culminated with the big concert at Skanderbeg Square of the well known singer Emeli Sande.

Social Media Photo Contest #TiranaAutumn2017 closed

The autumn Social Media Photo Competition, #TiranaAutumn2017 lasted 3 months from September-November, featuring all the beautiful views of Tirana in this colorful season. More than 917 photos were posted in Instagram, Twitter and Facebook showing a high interest of people to share their impression of the Tirana during autumn. This contestgathers the community of photographers living and working in Tirana, but also amateurs, and tourists. Emeli Sande blows away the crowd in Tirana, Albania
Scottish singer Emeli Sandé performed in Tirana for thousands of spectators in the Skanderbeg square. Sandé was the special guests for the White Night, a festive national day, which is celebrated every year on 29 November on the occasion of the Liberation Day (29 November 1944). Albanians are party harder and White Night is one of reasons to stay up all night. One of the songs that Emeli Sandé becomes famous in Albania is “My kind of love”, but the most beloved song is “Beneath your Beautiful”.

60 years history of National Popular Ensemble
The Albanian National Popular Ensemble celebrated 60th anniversary through festive gala concert held on 11- 12th November in Tirana. The most known artists, part of this Ensemble History who is still alive, were invited in the stage to perform and to bring their memories. It was a fantastic show with the best folk music and Albanian dance during the latest decades. This ensemble is very important for its role in preserving the heritage of culture and tradition passed from one generation to another.

Activities on 73th Anniversary of Tirana Liberation Day
Tirana celebrated the 73rd anniversary of City Liberation, on 17th November. It was the day when the National Liberation Forces won the war against the German invaders. Every year, the Municipality of Tirana organizes activities in honor of the martyrs in the Liberation War of Tirana by placing floral wreaths at the ‘Unknown Soldier’ Monument. Young people of Tirana promote cultural heritage
It is very inspiring to see young generation in Albania to promote the traditional costumes and cultural heritage of our nation. An interesting project called "Generation Meeting" was presented the last weekend at Skanderbeg Square through a festive event. This project was realized by the "Tradita Popullore" Foundation and the Metropol Theater.

Eight Christmas market in chalets in Brussels will be dedicated to Tirana
Albania is the guest of honor "Winter Pleasures" Christmas fair in Brussels. White, red or sparkling wine, beer, olive oil, typical dishes, crafts, but also traditional dance shows: this is what the city of Tirana will offer you during Winter Pleasures event which will be held at the end of the month in the city center. The Albanian capital will be the guest of honor at this 17th edition. In total, eight of the approximately two hundred and fifty chalets on the course will be dedicated to Albanian specialties.
